Lumber Storage

There are lots of different ways to store lumber. You can create racks that store the material vertically or horizontally, but whichever method you choose be sure to take space and access into consideration.

  1. Hi guys, this was well timed as somehow 200bf of lumber found its way into my truck and stuffed onto my lumber rack yesterday!

Maybe the picture above answers it, but what’s the deal on stickering lumber? I have some trees I had milled and they’re on stickers as they dry out but what about stuff you get from the lumber yard?

If it matters, my shop is heated and air conditioned. Humidity seems to range from high 20s to low 40s. I bought a moisture meter that says the wood that’s been in the shop for an extended period is about 6%.

    1. Matt,

I believe we’ve already done an episode on stickering, but there’s always room for more.

I’ll now put on my magic 8 ball hat and say, “Stay tuned. You may get the an answer to your questions sooner than you think (or want).”
