Weekend with Wood 2018

It’s OFFICIAL! I am a presenter at the 2018 Weekend with Wood woodworking event hosted by Wood Magazine at its Des Moines, Iowa classrooms and shops. The event is held May 17th through the 20th, so make your reservations now. Listed as teachers at next year’s event are names such as Gary Rogowski, Jeff Miller, Vic Tesolin, Steve and Jeremy Stevenson, George Vondriska, the staff at Wood magazine and others.

Alphabetically Speaking

I have a place of honor in the teacher listings. I’m sandwiched between Wood magazine’s ever-popular, contributing editor Jim Heavey and the magazine’s Tools Editor Bob Hunter, who knows more about woodworking tools than most tool manufacturing CEOs.

Among 17 other top woodworking instructors, I’ll bring a few surprise topics to the event. During the event I’ll teach Cabriole Legs for Furniture, Inlay for Period Furniture and Flame Finials by Hand or Power, which I promise will be full of great information and simple-to-execute techniques to make life in your shop better.

But if you’re looking to stretch your woodworking skills, plan to sit in on Stacked and Shaped: Techniques for Curved Parts, and Guide Bushings: Think Outside the Box. Those sessions should be quite different from others in which you’ll participate throughout the three days of woodworking indulgence.

(For a description of these classes, check out the entire class listing at the Weekend with Wood website.)

From what I understand about this woodworking event, you best register early. If I remember correctly, Weekend with Wood sells out every year. I’ll see you in Des Moines.
