All the guys think there is a time and place to use rip blades, but only one thinks it’s worthwhile to make the change as he rough-cuts stock for a new project. But the big reveal is that two of the woodworkers buy whatever blade is on sale when they walk through the doors of the local woodworking store. Which 360 Woodworking member prefers a band name?

Sometimes they agree and sometimes they don’t, but the conversation is always information packed and lots of fun.

  1. The only rip blade I’ll take the time to put in is a glue line rip blade (Freud) if I’m going to make panels or table tops. The rest of the time it is a combo blade. I have a Freud Fusion that I usually used for everything, but I picked up an Irwin Marples on sale for under $30 and I have to say it does a great job equal to blades costing 3 or 4 times as much.
