Episode 65 – SketchUp

02_EnfieldCupboardIn this episode of 360 with 360WoodWorking, the 360 guys talk about whether SketchUp is a modern shop necessity or if it’s just nonsense. Both hosts are asked at shows, presentations and in classes they teach if the program is worth all the frustration to learn.

Join the guys twice each week for six lively minutes of discussion on everything from tools to techniques to wood selection (and more). Chuck & Glen, and sometimes a surprise guest, all have their own opinions. Sometimes they agree and sometimes they don’t, but the conversation is always information packed and lots of fun.

  1. SketchUp was very useful when I produced a game table design for my daughter. I was able to visually determine which leg size and taper would look best from the most common viewing angles by comparing table mock-ups side by side.

  2. I’ve monkeyed around with it a few times, but have never used it for a full project.
And I really haven’t missed not having it.
I kind of identify with Glen’s blanket chest build theory.
I go out there and start building, and it works out.
