Episode 35 – How We Sharpen Blades, Cutters & Knives

35_BitSharpenIn this episode of 360 with 360WoodWorking, the topic is carried over from the previous discussion, but this time the guys focus on power tools. The topic is: How do we sharpen blades and edges. What blades are worked on and what blades are tossed. Are the 360 Woodworking guys different from other woodworkers? Take a listen to find out. Discover what the guys think about sharpening router bits. Plus, find out how the guys breathe new life into worn-out bits.

Join the guys twice each week for six lively minutes of discussion on everything from tools to techniques to wood selection (and more). Chuck & Glen, and sometimes a surprise guest, all have their own opinions. Sometimes they agree and sometimes they don’t, but the conversation is always information packed and lots of fun.

  1. Great viewpoints fellas.
Your common sense explanation is refreshing.
I’ve sent out my really expensive table saw blade to have resharpened, but would just use an inexpensive blade for less critical cuts.
As far as router bits go, Whiteside resharpens my bits for way less then new ones would cost.

Looking forward to seeing you in Tampa next weekend.

  2. BTW the credit card size diamond plate works great on router bits; at least most profiles.
